Manufacturer’s Overview

Back in the “good old days”, virtually all of the popular and affordable engineers’ and builders’ automatic levels were made in Japan. They cost a bit more than now perhaps, but they had a definite quality. Today, while most engineers’ models are still made in Japan, almost all builders’ levels are from China…sure they work OK and are cheaper, but are they “classics”? Heck no…not like the Nikon AZ-1!! In our opinion, this is the model that put Nikon on the map as far as automatic levels. This 22-power level is in very good cosmetic and excellent operating condition, and the quality Nikon coated optics put it a step above the rest.
